SILIGURI KINDERGARTEN SCHOOL UNDER THREAT BY DECAYED ELECTRIC POLE

Webdesk, TNI Siliguri, 23rd June, 2015: In a major find TNI has found out a dilapidated conditioned electric pole standing dangerously in front of a kindergarten school at Deshbandhupara SMC Ward No 29. The condition of the Electric pole is in a very serious rusted condition. The bottom portion of the pole has been rusted out and the pole might fall down in any small impact. Looking into the fact that a kindergarten school is located just near the pole it may take a serious turn if some untoward incident happens especially when the classes are going on. First spotted by TNI, when asked to some of the parents of the warts studying in the school, they looked astonished. A worried parent said, “We didn’t see the bottom portion of the pole till now, and now when I see I am very much worried”. Since the school was closed when TNI reached the spot the officials of the school could not be found. TNI later spoke to the councilor and MMIC Mr. Saradindu Chakraborty (Joy) who said that “I am aware of the condition of many other such poles not only in Ward No. 29 but also in the entire city. I along with my department am going to contact with WBSEDCL in this matter in first priority because the electric pole maintenance come under their purview”. TNI, when contacted with the Divisional Manager Siliguri Zone of WBSEDCL, Sevok Road, Siliguri, the manager, said that “Since we have come to know from you, I am going to sent team for inspection for such dilapidated electric poles”.
